Buford: Parent’s Shopping Day

  • Dec. 14: Need some time away from the kids to shop? (Or,  to just get away from the kids?). The Bogan Park Community Center near Buford provides kids with pizza, crafts and games as you do your secret shopping. For ages 6-12. Dacula: Christmas at Elisha Winn House

  • Dec. 14: Elisha Winn House near Dacula will be open and decorated for the holidays. (12 p.m.-4 p.m., free)

Duluth: Georgia’s Largest Nutcracker Collection

  • Dec. 14-15: (Also Dec. 21-22) The Strickland House near Duluth opens its doors to the Enchanted Christmas Idea House, with the largest Nutcracker collection in Georgia, hand-sculpted Santas, holiday artwork, professional decorated Christmas trees and mantles, culinary creations and much more! (Saturday 11 a.m.-8 p.m., Sunday 2 p.m.-6 p.m., $10, 678-642-9486)

Duluth: Winter Fest 2013

  • Dec. 14: Duluth’s Town Green has live entertainment from the ALL STAR Performing Arts Academy and the Duluth Idol winners, as well as a winter market. Shop for special holiday treats. (9 a.m.- 3 p.m., Free, 770-476-3434)

Lawrenceville: Elf on a Shelf Dinner

Lilburn: Free Pancakes with St. Nick

  • Dec. 14: The Lilburn Knights of Columbus hosts a breakfast with Santa Claus. Free food. Digital pictures of Santa and your child will be taken and made available free of charge as high resolution downloads on www.kofclilburn.org. (8 a.m., free)

Loganville: 8th Annual Jingle Jog for Autism

  • Dec. 14: The eighth annual Jingle Jog at Loganville High School benefits FACES (Families of Autism/Asperger’s, Care, Educate and Support) to provide summer camp for children on the Autism Spectrum for ages 3-22 serving Walton County and surrounding counties. Norcross: Best Christmas Pageant Ever

  • Dec. 12-13: The Lionheart Theatre in Norcross shows this beloved classic about six very unruly children who teach a whole church about the true meaning of the birth of Christ. (7 p.m., $10, 770-885-0425)

Peachtree Corners: Christmas Run 10K/5K

Snellville: Breakfast with Santa
