Being a proud 14 year employee of Chef Duds, I hate to hear that I had a customer who leftRead More unsatisfied or who thinks that we are unprofessional. We are a small company that has been in business for 18 years. We thrive on making our customers happy and have a reputation for being able to fulfill orders very quickly. However, I do remember the incidents that customer “J” is referring to. I would like to enlighten any future potential customers to the unique circumstances in this order. This particular customer works for a company we had previously filled a decent size order for. When it came time to pay they refused. Unfortunately for us, we had our sales representative hand deliver and couldn’t find our signed proof of delivery and the receiver of the goods had moved on. Thus the customer took full advantage of that clerical mistake. When “J” contacted us to order a hat he provided no artwork with an unapproved logo to be set up. By the way, not approved by his boss who was in our facility two days later. He also came with his own garments after being informed that we do not do contract embroidery. He was made fully aware that we could not be responsible if there was any damage or mistakes made on his garments. I, being the manager was very hesitant to embroider on garments that I could not replace if they were damaged. Communication is key in our line of business and when we encounter a customer who can’t communicate very well we do the best we can to ask all the right questions and inform them with all information. As for contacting an employee on a cell phone at 8pm on a Friday night, I cannot vouch for their state of communication. During normal business hours my employees are very professional, have great customer service skills, and are great communicators. In the end, one of the coats did get a wrong color in the logo. If it had been my garment, I could have grabbed another one from stock and corrected that on the spot. Even after informing J about our policy on embroidering garments that we do not sell, we did the right thing and gave him full credit for the embroidery and replaced the garment with a comparable coat with our label. Oh, by the way, J took the coat with the wrong embroidery and wear’s it even today because the embroidery error wasn’t all that distasteful. But, it was wrong! I never want a customer however large or small to leave with a bad taste for our company. If you have any uniform needs you can call Chef Duds at 678-546-6621 and give us a shot.
