Collins Hill Loses in AAAAAA Soccer Final

Berkmar dethrones the defending champion Eagles in an all-Gwinnett final.

Berkmar High of Lilburn has ended the reign of Collins Hill's boys soccer team as large-school state champion. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Kofi Twumasi and Awey Houry scored second-half goals Saturday, leading the Patriots to a 2-0 upset at Kennesaw State. It’s the first state title for Berkmar soccer. Collins Hill of Suwanee was making its sixth straight appearance in the title game. Twumasi scored to put the Patriots ahead 1-0 two minutes into the second half. Houry added a goal at the 15-minute mark. Don’t miss any Suwanee news. Collins Hill Back in State Soccer Final -- Barely

The Eagles survive Harrison on penalty kicks, and will face Berkmar in the final.

Eagles goaltender Jackson Taylor stopped a Harrison penalty shot to seal the victory. Thus Collins Hill will advance to Saturday's final against Gwinnett rival Berkmar, which defeated East Coweta on Thursday. The site is to be determined -- either at Kennesaw State or West Georgia University. It appeared that the Eagles might put the game away in regulation. Paul Ille scored at 25:40 of the second half for a 1-0 …
