The Cleary brothers are reunited with their mother and friends after a national Amber Alert. But memories of another recent tragedy linger.
It was the second time in recent weeks that a Suwanee neighborhood has known extreme emotions. This time, it had a happy ending, when brothers Ben and Henry Cleary returned to Suwanee at midday Sunday from Austin, Texas, accompanied by their mother, Theresa Nash. A nationwide Amber Alert was issued December 27 for the boys, who were visiting with their father. Nash became suspicious when the father, Daniel Cleary of Roswell, did not call her on December 22, as required by their custody agreement. However, the same neighborhood was plunged into mourning in late November when resident Jean Strickland, of a Lake Pass Lane address, was killed in a head-on crash on nearby McGinnis Ferry Road. Her son Mike Strickland, who lived with her, was …

Town Center Park will be the site for a "Thanksgiving prayer" for Ben and Henry Cleary.
The planned prayer vigil on Sunday in Suwanee is still scheduled for the boys who were found safe Saturday after a nationwide Amber Alert, according to a Facebook posting. A special Facebook page devoted to the search for Ben Cleary and Henry Cleary noted: "The prayer vigil that was set for (Sunday) at 2:00 at Suwanee Town Center will still be on and will now be a Thanksgiving prayer. Please come out." The page already has accumulated more than 9,100 "likes." The boys and their father were found Saturday in Austin, Texas, after an Amber Alert was issued earlier in the week. The boys' father, Daniel Cleary of Roswell, had failed to contact their mother, Theresa Nash of Suwanee, on December 22, as mandated by their custody agreement. …

Surveillance photos placed the Cleary brothers in Chattanooga. Their father may have planned the abduction.
The two Suwanee brothers who are the subjects of a nationwide Amber Alert have been seen on surveillance photos in Chattanooga, Tenn. Also, media reports indicate that their father may have planned the abduction. WSB-TV has reported that police have released surveillance photos of Roswell resident Daniel Cleary and his sons (Ben, 9, and Henry, 7) taken at a Walmart in Chattanooga, Tenn. Also, the boys' mother, who lives in Suwanee, told WSB, "(Daniel Cleary) also just got out of rehab, so normal logic doesn't apply." Reports say that Daniel Cleary just purchased a gun and obtained a new 2002 Jeep Cherokee (temporary tag: 1074262). Also, he cleared his home of some large electronics and TVs, and police said that indicates he was planning to…

Authorities issued an Amber Alert on Thursday (December 27) for two missing Suwanee boys who had been visiting their father in Roswell. Media and police reports say that Ben Cleary, 9, and Henry Cleary, 7, were believed to be with their father, Daniel Cleary of Roswell. The youths reportedly spent Christmas break with their father, but had not been returned to their mother by Wednesday afternoon. Authorities believe Daniel Cleary may be headed for Tennessee. “I last heard from them on the 22nd of December,” Theresa Nash told WSB-TV. “Since then, his phone has been shut off. I got suspicious when I didn’t hear from them by the end of the day Christmas.” Another media report said Daniel Cleary had planned to take the boys to an aquarium in …
