Suwanee High School Football Schedules for 2013

Collins Hill, North Gwinnett and Peachtree Ridge will be competing again soon.

Hey, it may be spring, but football season is just a few months away. And the Suwanee schools' schedules have been determined. Again this season, North Gwinnett and Peachtree Ridge will participate in the Corky Kell Classic in the Georgia Dome on Aug. 24. Collins Hill will open its season on Aug. 30 vs. Central Gwinnett. Collins Hill, North Gwinnett Begin Play in State Soccer Playoffs

Defending champion Collins Hill boys will host a first-round game in the Georgia High School Association soccer tournament.

Suwanee-are high schools — including defending large-school boys soccer champion Collins Hill — will be well-represented in the Georgia High School Association boys and girls soccer state tournaments, which begin this week all across the state. See also: The Eagles begin their defense by hosting West Forsyth High Wednesday, May 1, in the first round of the Class AAAAAA tournament. Also playing this week: Collins Hill's girls, who host Johns Creek Tuesday (April 30), North Gwinnett's girls, who play at Lambert, also on Tuesday; and North Gwinnett's boys, who host South Forsyth. Suwanee Baseball Teams To Be in Event at Coolray Field

Ten high school teams will compete on March 8-9, 2013.

North Gwinnett, Collins Hill and Peachtree Ridge high school baseball teams will be part of a two-day baseball showcase this week in Gwinnett. Ten high school teams from Gwinnett and Forsyth counties will compete in a two-day, five-game event on March 8-9 at Coolray Field Also participating are teams from South Gwinnett, Mountain View, Lanier, Providence Christian, Duluth, Brookwood, and North Forsyth. “We’ve had singular events before, showcasing some top high school baseball teams in the area,” Gwinnett Braves General Manager North Johnson said in a news release.  “Through the efforts of the community and our staff, we have expanded to welcome the largest high school showcase in the history of Coolray Field. Peachtree Ridge Boys, North Gwinnett Girls To Face Gwinnett Foes

The Lions win Wednesday in state tourney play.

Suwanee teams will face some fellow Gwinnett foes later this week in the state basketball tournament. The Peachtree Ridge boys, who defeated Centennial 57-38 on Wednesday (February 20), will play Shiloh. And the North Gwinnett girls, who won Tuesday, will take on Archer. The Collins Hill boys were eliminated Wednesday in a 73-69 loss to Alpharetta. Amir Warnock scored 18 points to lead Peachtree Ridge. The Shiloh game will be Saturday in Snellville. The Archer girls advanced by beating Etowah 53-19 on Wednesday in Lawrenceville. North will host Archer on Friday. North Gwinnett Girls Win; Suwanee Boys Teams in Action Wednesday

The North Gwinnett girls basketball team had an easy time Tuesday (February 19) in its state tournament opener. North coasted past Lambert High, 67-30, in Suwanee. North will host the winner of Wednesday's Archer-Etowah game on Friday at 7 p.m. Joshlyn Belcher led North with 17 points. On Wednesday, the Peachtree Ridge and Collins Hill boys will be in action. North Gwinnett Wins, Collins Hill Loses in Playoffs

Bulldogs will face defending champion Grayson next in AAAAAA playoffs.

North Gwinnett stayed alive Friday (November 16), but Collins Hill was eliminated as the AAAAAA playoffs began. NORTH GWINNETT 49, JOHNS CREEK 19: QB Michael Haynes had 248 yards passing with four touchdowns. North led 35-7 after three quarters. The Bulldogs will travel to 8-AAAAAA Grayson, which defeated Wheeler 49-9, next week. WEST FORSYTH 66, COLLINS HILL 41: Eagles QB Brett Sheehan had 349 yards passing with five TDs. However, West Forsyth's Jake Wieczorek had 277 yards rushing and three touchdowns. West Forsyth will host 8-AAAAAA Parkview next week. North Gwinnett won and Collins Hill lost in close games Friday (November 9) as Suwanee teams ended the 2012 regular season. Also, playoffs begin next Friday (November 16) for the Bulldogs and the Eagles. North will host Johns Creek (No. 3 seed from 6-AAAAAA) and Collins Hill will travel to West Forsyth (No. 1 seed in 5-AAAAAA), according to the GHSA bracket.
