And Saturday night he added another to his illustrious career - an Emmy. Massey, who has been starring on the long-running daytime drama, "Days of Our Lives," since 2009 was named "Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actor" for his role as Will Horton. It was his second nomination but the first time winning the award. "Wow, oh my gosh," said an excited Massey as he stood on stage after receiving the award. Despite the excitement of the moment, Massey, 21, remembered to list a number of people to thank, including his parents Lewis and Amy Massey who…

Chandler Massey came to Suwanee last year on a memorable 'Days Of Our Lives' tour.
Excitement has been building for the Massey family of Peachtree Corners. Their 21-year-old son, Chandler Massey, a Norcross High School graduate who landed a role on a daytime television show two years ago, is heading to the big screen with the debut of his first film. "16-Love," is to be released this week in over 10 major cities, including Lawrenceville, and is showing at AMC Colonial Theaters beginning Friday. Massey and other members of the "Days Of Our Lives" TV show cast appeared at Suwanee City Hall last spring on a book tour. Massey honed his acting skills under the guidance of his high school's drama teacher, Gina Parrish, who couldn't be more proud of her former student in his film debut. "We would love for this to do well," she …

The large turnout last month in Suwanee has organizers considering an encore.
The recent turnout in Suwanee for the "Days Of Our Lives" cast appearance has tour organizers thinking of a return trip to the Atlanta area. A tour publicist said this week that the turnout of 2,000 or so in March still is the strongest on the nationwide tour, which included stops in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York. New Orleans, the stop following Suwanee, had about 1,000 fans come to see several cast members. Filizzola remarked that the Suwanee turnout reminded the cast of how strong the show's fan base in Atlanta is, so a return is being considered. Fans from as far away as North Carolina, Tennessee and Alabama began lining up at Suwanee's City Hall in mid-afternoon March 21. Two lines -- one for book purchases, one strictly for …

Organizers getting book requests via special email address.
A week after the human crunch in Suwanee over the "Days Of Our Lives" tour appearance, interest remains strong. A tour representative said Saturday that about 200 people have requested signed copies of the commemorative photo book based on the long-running NBC daytime TV show. Organizers set up a special email last week after having to turn away hundreds of fans Monday at Suwanee City Hall. Monday's signing was scheduled for 6-8 p.m., but it was extended 2 1/2 hours because of the overwhelming response. Two lines -- one to buy the book and one for signing and pictures with the stars -- began forming in midafternoon. Fans came from all over the Southeast, and the turnout was estimated at 2,000. Organizers said it was the most successful …

The address is: Daysbooks@itgirlpublicrelations.com The Suwanee stop, with a crowd estimated at 2,000, was the most successful in the multi-city tour that originated in Los Angeles, where the show is filmed, and included stops in Chicago and New York, officials said. Thousands turn out Monday to see the longtime TV show's cast members.
Some have said that events at City Hall in Suwanee are like a soap opera. Monday, they were right. In what undoubtedly was a one-day record number of people for Suwanee's 2-year-old City Hall, fans of "Days Of Our Lives," a daytime television institution, came from as far away as Alabama and North Carolina to see cast members and purchase books. The event, coordinated through the Gwinnett County Public Library, was in conjunction with the show's 45th anniversary and a book to commemorate that date. The cast members present included one of Gwinnett's own, Norcross High grad Chandler Massey, who plays Will Horton. Among those attending were Massey's parents, Lewis and Amy, his brother and sister, and his grandparents. The fervor was that …
