Here are the latest numbers for the County Commissioner District 3, Superior Court Judge and State Court Judge races.

Election Turnout 'Steady' in Suwanee on Tuesday

Voting under way at City Hall for mayor, City Council post and Sunday alcohol sales.

Updated 10:20 a.m., Nov. 8, 2011 Suwanee has begun the final day of selecting a new mayor and deciding other issues Tuesday. Polls opened at 7 a.m., and a poll worker characterized the turnout as "steady." By 10 a.m., the voting line was outside the door of council chambers. Karen and Ted Krotz, residents of Suwanee for 25 years, were among the morning voters Tuesday. "Sunday alcohol sales" were the significant factor in this election, Karen Krotz said. Mike and Anita Sweetnam of Suwanee also noted Sunday alcohol sales as a defining factor in the election. "It always struck me as funny that you could buy alcohol on Sunday in Alabama and not in Georgia," Mike Sweetnam said. "Revenue is revenue," Anita Sweetnam said of her support for Sunday…

Burnette Called 'Unique' and 'Common Sense-ical'

Updated 8:49 a.m., July 21, 2011 The family tradition is undeniable. But it likely won't be a case of old-line politics if Jimmy Burnette is elected mayor of Suwanee in November. Burnette is viewed by many as progressive and an agent of growth in Suwanee, which added almost 7,000 residents in the past decade. "It's unique in that Jimmy is a native son," said fellow Suwanee Council Member Dick Goodman on Tuesday, when Burnette formally announced his candidacy for mayor.
