Friends Sports Grill Closer To Opening in Suwanee

City Council OKs the alcoholic beverage license Tuesday.

The newest entry in the Suwanee restaurant scene moved closer to its debut Tuesday. The Suwanee City Council approved the alcoholic beverage license for Friends Sports Grill at the February council meeting. Ray Stanjevich, the owner/operator of the eatery, was at City Hall for the approval. He is planning on a March opening, although it might not be in time for St. Patrick's Day. He still has some other regulatory hurdles to clear before business can begin. Stanjevich, who also runs the Friends Sports Grill in Dacula, said he is considering getting a booth at the Suwanee Beerfest, which is set for March 16 at Town Center Park. -- How do you think Friends Sports Grill will fare in Suwanee? Promote Altanta teams. Keep the games on TV rather then General Hosptial and he should be fine. Trivia nights and draft beer specials would be good as well. Get the word out at town center that you are just around the corner would be good. I think that is where the other places went wrong. No one knew they were there.   more ›

Friends Sports Grill Hiring in Suwanee, Dacula

The eatery plans to open in Suwanee in the spring.

Friends Sports Grill is hiring for two locations, its current restaurant in Dacula and a planned location in Suwanee set to open in March.  "We are hiring for all positions in Suwanee," owner Ray Stanjevich wrote in an e-mail to Patch. "That includes managers, servers, bartenders, hosts, cooks and dishwashers. Experience is necessary for some positions, but not all. Restaurant experience is preferred, but retail experience is also acceptable, as well as other forms of customer service experience. We offer full time as well part time jobs, and scheduling is flexible." The Suwanee location is expected to employ about 40 people upon opening. The Super Bowl between Baltimore and San Francisco will kick off on Sunday, Feb. 3, at 6:30 p.m. on CBS. --- As the Super Bowl approaches Sunday (February 3), restaurant operators in Suwanee and Gwinnett have a real flap on their hands. Friends Sports Grill To Open in Suwanee

The latest Suwanee restaurant entry will go in the former Corralejo location near Town Center.

The evolving Suwanee restaurant scene will get another new entry in the spring when Friends Sports Grill sets up shop near Town Center. Ray Stanjevich, owner/operator of the coming Suwanee eatery, says Friends should be open in 2-3 months. It will be in a strip mall on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road that backs up to Town Center and the nearby housing development. The suite formerly housed Corralejo and Indigo Joe's. Well if one recalls all the past restaurants that were there did not make strong and good drinks. Their wine glases were smaller and even their dinks we really really regulated not a drop or drop more. So I am sure friends will not do that as the sorunding places like hammer heads and others in the park make good drinks and offer good wines too. I saw your menu and love it.
