Election Day 2012: More Voters React in Suwanee

The Libertarian candidate also finds a supporter. Share your thoughts.

There was no voting line at midday Tuesday at George Pierce Park in Suwanee, unlike the recent early voting. But there still was plenty of voter reaction as Election Day 2012 progressed. Jeff Gough used this election to change his normal voting pattern and back President Obama. The reason? His girlfriend has Crohn's Disease, a digestive disorder, and he believes Obama's policies would make insurance for her easier to obtain. "(His girlfriend) didn't have it when she was diagnosed, and now there's a pre-existing condition," he explained. He noted that such insurance still would be expensive -- $300 monthly, with a $1,500 deductible. -- What are you seeing and hearing on Election Day? Share your experiences in the comments below. LETTER: Gwinnett Resident Enjoys Early Voting Experience in Suwanee

Despite a long wait and having an Obama campaign sign stolen from her yard, a woman enjoys the mission.

Note: This is an email to Suwanee Patch by a reader. We stood in line for 6 hours to vote at George Pierce Park in Suwanee, GA (Gwinnett County). Even though we had planned to go out and vote on Saturday early voting day, we were even more inspired to vote when our Obama/Biden yard sign was stolen right out of our yard on Friday night. When my husband woke me up on Saturday morning, he told me that our sign was gone, but we both agreed that the best way for us to show our support for President Obama was by casting our vote on Saturday, so that's what we did. We met so many wonderful people while standing in line for 6 hours, some who were clearingly on different ends of the political spectrum than us. We were sharing stories, food and …

Took us almost 6-1/2 hours. The county board of elections should be ashamed of itself. 15 operational voting machines, but only 3 operational computers + people to check voters in and distribute ballot cards.   more ›
