Christmas Eve Arson Suspect Charged

Fernandez-Centena faces felony counts of arson, cruelty to children and aggravated assault. He remains hospitalized.

The man who allegedly set fire to his former house on Christmas eve in Lawrenceville with his daughter in tow has been formally charged over the incident.  Gwinnett Fire Capt. Tommy Rutledge said Wednesday that Roberto Fernandez-Centena, 45, faces felony counts of arson, cruelty to children and aggravated assault. He remains hospitalized in guarded custody. He was found Sunday on the back porch of a residence on Flagg Way in Lawrenceville, authorities said. He had been hiding in woods nearby since setting fire to the house on Daisy Court on Friday, authorities' reports said.
