Want to know how Suwanee and Gwinnett voted for president in 2008? Wonder no more. Courtesy of the attached document, you can see how your voting precinct went, as well as others nearby and throughout the county, though labeled unofficial and incomplete. It shows the diversity of the county's 800,000 residents. Though thought of as Republican, certain precincts -- such as Harbins A and Pinckneyville A -- voted heavily for Barack Obama over John McCain for president. Republican-heavy Gwinnett County came out in large numbers

Results Updated 2 a.m., Wednesday  Gwinnett County voters provided few surprises on Election Day. They came out in large numbers, voted mostly Republican and provided several lopsided outcomes. Nearly 75 percent of the county's registered voters casted their ballots, more than five percentage points better than the 2008 turnout. Gwinnettians voted for Gov. Mitt Romney for president, for incumbents in 11 races, including three Board of Education candidates, and in favor of the controversial Public Charter School Amendment (by a 63% to 37% margin), which drew similar margins elsewhere in the state. Gwinnett Voters Meet and Greet Candidates

Candidates for various offices took part in a meet-and-greet with the public before Gwinnett County judicial candidates debated.

In partnership with the Organization of Chinese Americans (Georgia) and the United Ebony Society of Gwinnett County, the League of Women Voters of Gwinnett County hosted a Judicial Candidate forum at Berkmar High School in Lilburn on Tuesday night. The forum was crowded, as candidates with grassroots campaigns took the opportunity to share their message and shake hands with future constituents. David Hancock, a Suwanee businessman running for Congress against incumbent Rob Woodall, is making his second bid for public office. He ran for State House four years ago. “The reason I ran four years ago is that the guy that had been my representative for years and years, no one would run against him,” said Hancock.
