MLK Day Events Scheduled for January 21 in Gwinnett
Lawrenceville and Snellville will have parades in honor of the late civil rights leader from Atlanta.
Gwinnett County will have events Monday (January 21) on the national holiday in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. In Snellville, Pastor Elijah Collins of New Jerusalem Baptist Church and Mayor Kelly Kautz have announced plans for Snellville's second annual King Celebration. In Lawrenceville, the United Ebony Society of Gwinnett County will present its 13th annual King parade, with events starting at 10 a.m. The parade will start at the historic Gwinnett Courthouse at 10:30 a.m., and this year there will be an extension of the parade route to Moore Middle School, which is located at 1221 Lawrenceville Highway at the intersection of Johnson Road, according to the website.
