Social media use is prominent in everyday life in 2013, and Sunday's Super Bowl was no exception. For example, users posted 24.1 million "tweets" on Twitter during the telecast, according to mashable.com. Top moments included the 34-minute power outage at the Superdome early in the second half, which generated 231,500 tweets per minute, Mashable reported. Beyonce? Her halftime performance generated 5.5 million tweets. Her 12-minute show's conclusion: 268,000 tweets per minute. Game time is 6:30 p.m., CBS. --- The Atlanta Falcons went farther in the playoffs in 2013 than in any year since the 1998 season. Yet, there's still the taste of defeat. And that makes many Falcons fans wonder, "What does it take?" Sunday's 28-24 loss to San Francisco at the Georgia Dome was tough for Atlanta in that the Falcons, who were the top-seeded NFC playoff team, had a 17-0 lead in the first half. If ever there was a time to "rise up." The Atlanta Falcons are a win away from the Super Bowl. And it will be determined Sunday (January 20) in the Georgia Dome, the first time Atlanta has ever hosted the NFC Championship Game. The visitors are the San Francisco 49ers. (Game time, 3 p.m., FOX) This is only the second time Atlanta has gone this far in the playoffs. The previous time was after the 1998 season, when the Falcons, under coach Dan Reeves, had to travel to Minnesota to play for the Super Bowl slot. The latest mega-star to give a halftime gig at the Super Bowl -- Beyonce. The singer has confirmed on her website that she will perform at Super Bowl 47, scheduled for Feb. 3, 2013, according to the Huffington Post. It won't be the first Super Bowl appearance for Beyonce, 31. She sang the national anthem at the 2004 game. Beyonce, whose hits include "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)," has won 16 Grammy Awards. Updated 6:54 a.m., Feb. 6, 2012 The New York Giants, 7-7 at one point this season, put on a great comeback Sunday in Super Bowl 46 to beat New England, 21-17. Quarterback Eli Manning led a nine-play, 88-yard drive for the winning score with less than a minute remaining. Then, the New York defense held off a desperate Patriots comeback attempt. It's New York's second NFL title in the past four seasons, both against the Patriots. Adding to the evening's memorable entertainment was Madonna.
