SPEAK OUT: More Post Office Boxes To Be Sold Under New System?

Customers of the U.S. Post Office in Suwanee won't notice much difference in operations if Saturday mail delivery ends as scheduled in August. A spokesperson for the Suwanee Post Office, which is located at 990 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard at Eva Kennedy Road, noted that people will "notice little change" in retail operations at the facility. As it is now, the facility will be open on Saturdays. Steve Sakata of the Suwanee Post Office, however, speculated that "a lot more people might get post office boxes" when the agency makes its landmark change, which was announced Wednesday (February 7). The U.S. Postal Service reportedly will end Saturday mail delivery in August 2013, but would continue to deliver packages on Saturdays. According to an ABC News report, the agency is making the move to curb financial losses. The plan would save the agency about $2 billion annually, the report says. Also, delivery to post office boxes would continue on Saturdays, the report says. The Post Office needs to find a way to reinvent themselves and keep up with the times and technology. You can buy stamps online (stamps.com) The merchants sending bills may have to send out them earlier if the mail is delayed.I mean, come on, that the way they have tried to increase revenue is by decorating a stamp, increasing the cost of stamps (it seems every year), etc. They did not value …   more ›
