In anticipation of Valentine's Day 2012, Smart phone app developer Iconosys, Inc., released Kiss My Valentine™, an app that sends little love messages all day in either English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, or Chinese. What happened in/around Suwanee from Feb. 13-19.
Another week that was. The highlights: SculpTour: Suwanee long has had an eye for art, and now it has launched SculpTour. The city wants unique sculptures to display around the city, and it has an RFP and is offering stipends for artists. Courthouse weddings: Love was in the air on Valentine's Day, and several couples turned out at the historic courthouse in Lawrenceville to tie the knot. Re-cycling: A group of road cyclists regularly starts rides of 30 to 50 miles from Suwanee. One is a current NFL player. And it can get a bit dangerous, but it's also fun. The Outlaws have their own Facebook page, too. Closing the book: Bookstores are now on the Internet hit list, following newspapers and music CDs. The Borders chain filed for Chapter 11 …

Couples head for the historic courthouse in Lawrenceville to tie the knot.
Courthouse bells served as wedding bells at the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse on Monday, as more than a dozen couples lined up outside before the doors even opened at 1oam. Couples like Brett Price and Janeka Jackson were there to exchange marital vows on Valentine’s Day. For them, the decision to come down Monday was easy. “Because we love each other.” Price said. “And it’s Valentine’s Day, it's his birthday and we love each other and he’s my soul mate,” added the future Mrs. Price. The city offered free wedding ceremonies to those who were lucky in love. The couples did need to have a valid marriage license before Feb. 14.
