'America's Supernanny' Casting in Georgia

Lifetime TV show is opening the door to families in the area.

Attention, Suwanee area families: The popular Lifetime TV show "America's Supernanny" is having a casting call for next season. Representatives of the show will be coming to Georgia in late May/early June, and applications are being accepted now. The show is looking for families that could benefit from the help of child/teen expert, according to a news release. Star Deborah Tillman has founded and currently runs three successful full-time day-care centers in Virginia, where she’s worked with children and teens for years. She regularly presents workshops on childcare throughout the country, and she’s the author of "Stepping Out on Faith," a guide to operating a quality childcare center, the news release said. Romney Makes Atlanta Campaign Stops

The GOP candidate appears in Buckhead and Midtown. The Georgia primary is March 6.

After losing all three Republican voting contests Tuesday night, GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney made the first of two Atlanta appearances Wednesday afternoon at the Bottega by Stones International showroom in Buckhead. Before several hundred enthusiastic supporters - but not a dozen or so Newt Gingrich supporters who were not allowed in - the former Massachusetts governor lashed out at President Obama and his GOP rivals. After his approximately 30-minute speech, Romney departed for the W Hotel Midtown for a $2,500 per person VIP reception and a $1,000 per person general reception. Peachtree Road Race Brings Colorful Costumes, Family Sharing

Runners decorated themselves in running gear, props or full costumes for the race, and every spectator cheered them on.

Peachtree Road was the site of an American stampede Monday morning when 60,000 gathered to run the 42nd annual Peachtree Road Race. Among them were ballerinas, Santa Claus, cowboys, anti-war demonstrators, men leaning on walkers, farmers, hula dancers, pirates and Eeyore the Disney donkey. All the city’s characters, from near and far, came to take part in this Atlanta tradition. Spectators lined the fenced-off sidewalks to cheer on friends and family who were racing, or just to absorb the excitement in the morning air. Loudspeakers lined the street blasting pump-up music, and some runners danced along their route. Outside the W Hotel young boys shot water guns through the fencing at running targets.
