Is one of your New Year's resolutions to give more of your time to the community? You may be in luck at the Gwinnett County Animal Shelter. Due to several new initiatives and events designed to maximize the number of adoptions from the shelter, the Gwinnett County Animal Welfare and Enforcement Services is in need of volunteers. "The ultimate goal is to reduce euthanasia and find every adoptable pet a home," according to a news release from Gwinnett Police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith. "Volunteers are an essential part of this goal, and we can’t do it without them." The shelter has several events and activities on the horizon, in addition to daily needs.
