Prince Funeral: 'Family Can Be Together Forever'

There were tears, laughter and memories -- usually within seconds of each other -- Tuesday in Suwanee as family members, friends and others attended the emotional funeral ceremony for Griffin and Jake Prince. And there was a lot of talk about family and spirituality as the Prince and Hansen families were among those attending services for the brothers, killed in a June 18 boating collision on Lake Lanier. "Family is the perfect eternal organization," said Gary Hansen, one of the boys' grandfathers, at the ceremony at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Suwanee Dam Road. UPDATE: Mourners Bid Farewell to Prince Brothers in Suwanee

Family members attend and speak at the Latter-day Saints church in funeral for Griffin and Jake Prince, victims of the recent boating fatality on Lake Lanier.

Updated 1:53 p.m. Hundreds of people, including members of the Prince and Hansen families, Tuesday attended an emotional funeral ceremony for Griffin and Jake Prince. The ceremony was held in Suwanee at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Suwanee Dam Road. The ceremony began at noon and concluded about 1:45 p.m. "Families are forever," Bishop Mark Bradford said in concluding remarks. Among the speakers were Gary Hansen, the boys' grandfather, and Jeff Humphrey, a longtime family friend. Suwanee Police officer Wes Edwards, an uncle to the Prince youths, gave the invocation at the ceremony, and was a pallbearer. The Gwinnett family of Griffin and Jake Prince issues a statement as the boys' funeral is held Tuesday in Suwanee.

The Prince family of Gwinnett prepares to hold funeral ceremonies Tuesday in Suwanee for Griffin and Jake Prince, victims of last month's fatal boat collision on Lake Lanier. Monday evening, the family posted a statement on the memorial page on Facebook. The message is filled with many emotions, and offers inspiration. Prince Brothers' Funeral Service To Be Tuesday in Suwanee

Latter Day Saints' church on Suwanee Dam Road will be the site. Family and close friends are invited.

The funeral service for Griffin and Jake Prince, the Buford brothers who were killed in the boating collision last month on Lake Lanier, will be Tuesday in Suwanee. The service will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 4833 Suwanee Dam Road, according to a statement issued Monday by representatives of the Prince family. This church is very near North Gwinnett High School. The Prince family asks that attendance be limited to family and close friends, the spokesperson said. Those attending are asked to be seated at the church by 11:40 a.m.. Parking will be at the church, and overflow parking will be at North Gwinnett High. Prince Brothers' Visitation To Be Monday in Gwinnett

Visitation for the Lanier boating victims will be at Hamilton Mill Chapel in Buford.

A memorial for Griffin and Jake Prince, the Buford brothers who were killed in a Lake Lanier boating collision last month, will be Monday in Gwinnett. Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel and Gardens in Buford will host visitation for the youths from 6-9 p.m., according to the website. What are your memories of Griffin and Jake Prince? Suwanee Police Felt Lanier Boating Tragedy

A Suwanee officer is related to the victims, and helped with the recovery effort.

The Suwanee Police Department felt a personal sense of loss from the recent fatal boating collision on Lake Lanier. Suwanee officer Wes Edwards is uncle to the Prince boys, who were killed in the June 18 crash. Edwards participated in the recovery effort, which ended Wednesday when searchers recovered the body of Griffin Prince, 13. Jake Prince, 9, also died in the collision. Deputy Police Chief Janet Moon noted that Edwards was assigned to the command post as the liaison between the incident commander for the dive team and the family for any questions that arose during the search efforts. Lanier Divers Reportedly Find Body of Missing Teen

Griffin Prince, 13, had been missing since last week's fatal boating collision on Lake Lanier.

The rescue efforts on Lake Lanier apparently have found the body of Griffin Prince, the Buford teen who had been missing since the recent boating collision on Lake Lanier. According to the WSB-TV website, sources confirm that the body of Griffin Prince was found just after 6 p.m. Wednesday evening. Divers from the Hall County Sheriff's office and the FBI recovered the body from an area where they were conducting their most dangerous dives yet, according to the report. Divers located debris earleir in the day near the crash site at depths of about 100-120 feet, officials said. The colllision on June 18 also took the life of Griffin Prince's brother Jake, 9. Lanier Search for Missing Teen Now in Day 9

FBI divers are involved in the effort for the missing Gwinnett youth.

The search for missing Griffin Prince of Buford entered Day 9 on Wednesday at Lake Lanier, with divers from Hall County and the FBI involved in trying to find one of the victims of the June 18 boating tragedy. According to the WSB-TV website, divers are focusing on an area the size of a football field about 300 feet south of the crash where the water is well over 100 feet deep. Members of the Prince family have been at the command post the entire time, waiting for any word. Griffin Prince, 13, was thrown overboard and his brother Jake, 9, was killed when another boater drove his craft into a pontoon boat being piloted by the Prince boys' father, Michael Prince Jr. The collision happened late at night when the pontoon boat apparently was …

Cadaver dogs have helped searchers zero in on a specific area

Cadaver dogs have helped searchers at Lake Lanier zero in on a specific area Tuesday in the hunt for missing Buford teen Griffin Prince, according to media reports. WSB-TV has reported that cadaver dogs were alerted to a dead body odor during Monday afternoon’s search for the teen, who has been missing since the boating collision last week that also killed his brother.     On Tuesday, dogs were taken back out and confirmed the area again. Divers are now searching in a targeted area that is very close to where the crash happened, Department of Natural Resources Regional Supervisor Capt. Mark Padgett told WSB.
