The screening tour returns on Monday at the Movie Tavern.
The latest independent film to show in the screening series in Suwanee features a couple of actors familiar to mainstream flicks fans. Academy Award winner Olympia Dukakis and Haley Joel Osment star in "The Misadventures of the Dunderheads," which will show Monday (March 18) at the Movie Tavern. According to a city news release, "Dunderheads" follows an eccentric Montana family -- an illiterate grandmother, a 17-year-old who accidently kills his best friend, and his 18-year-old sister who is several degrees off kilter. The three are on the run to Canada, but end up in Mexico, in the amusing and poignant tale of the human family. This film was directed by D.G. Brock, who has worked with film producer Roger Corman, and as a Disney …

The 2013 edition will be Saturday in Town Center Park.
The American Craft Beer Fest seems to have found a warm spot in the spring event lineup in Suwanee. And so it will have its 2013 run on Saturday (March 16) from 1-5 p.m. in Town Center Park. The debut event in 2011 ran into some sweltering midsummer heat, and so it was moved to spring in 2012, and that has worked better, organizers say. According to a release from Vuegler Design Group, the sponsor, attendees can expect over 250 beers available for sampling, including beers from several breweries new to Georgia, such as Sixpoint, Blue Tarp, Lonerider and Goose Island. There will be musical entertainment, of course. Returning Chicago band Ful Kinetic will perform, followed by local acts The Daniel Brothers and Outatime. Also, food vendors …

Suwanee's 2013 event season goes into high gear Saturday, and perhaps appropriately, with a student-led program that focuses on the city's various cultures. Seven North Gwinnett students are spearheading the event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Town Center Park. According to the website, the event will "bring together the different cultures, to unite for one cause, and that is to help understand the connection of cultures. ... This is simply to help people understand that diversity is what helps the world stay in balance." Students themselves have set the budget for the event, as well as …
