UPDATE: Suwanee Woman Killed in McGinnis Ferry Accident
A Bogart man also was killed in the head-on crash November 28 near Scales Road.
A Suwanee woman and Bogart man have been identified as the persons killed Wednesday evening (November 28) in a head-on collision. Jean Strickland, 79, of a Lake Pass Lane address in Suwanee and David Dowdy, 47, of Bogart were killed in the accident, which occurred about 6 p.m. Traffic was blocked for several hours, and diverted onto other roadways. Police said initial reports are that the Pontiac driven by Dowdy apparently crossed the center line on McGinnis Ferry and collided with the Mercedes driven by Strickland. -- No other details on the accident are currently available.
