The fine dining/entertainment venue on PIB had been selling memberships to stay in business.
It has not been a happy 2013 for Moondance Restaurant & Lounge in Suwanee. Already, the restaurant has said it is "closed until further notice." In a Facebook posting dated January 3, Moondance said it is "diligently seeking financial investors to keep Moondance open ..." The restaurant, which opened on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in late 2011, had begun offering membership packages recently as a means of staying in business. The packages sold for as much as $5,000. Also, Moondance had reduced operating days to Thursday-Sunday for 2013. It's New Year's events were sold out. The owner of Moondance Restaurant and Lounge in Suwanee, which acknowledges financial problems, has begun selling membership packages "to keep us in business." In a blog post dated December 29, Christine Alestra noted the recent restaurant closures in Suwanee that include the Olde Towne Tavern & Grille in Town Center. "As we approach 2013, Moondance faces these same realities. We have analyzed our business closely and cut costs where we could. Until our revenue grows more significantly, these measures on their own are not enough to cover the high annual bills that come due starting on the 31st of December. Moondance Restaurant & Lounge in Suwanee is having a contest, with a gourmet meal prepared in your home as the top prize, According to Moondance owner Christine Alestra, the meal would include up to 10 people. To enter, people have to "like" the Moondance on Facebook and enter their email. The three-course meal would be prepared by Executive Chef Todd Paige. The contest will run until July 21, with the winner to be selected on July 22. The date and menu for the dinner will be finalized with the winner. The Australian blues-rocker recently played with Bramblett and the Allman Brothers Band.
The big-name entertainment continues at the Moodance Lounge in Suwanee on Tuesday. Geoff Achison, a recording artist with Australian roots, is scheduled to perform at the site's listening room. Achison is to perform Tuesday, 7:30-10:30 p.m. There will be a $10 cover charge. Achison is on a U.S. tour, and that recently included an onstage performance with the Allman Brothers Band in New York. Noted Southern blues rocker Randall Bramblett, who has performed at Moondance, also joined Achison and the Allmans onstage for a performance of “That’s What Love Will Make You Do.” (See the attached video.) There is a dead heat, but both places seem appropriate. The Moondance Lounge and Wild Wing Cafe tied for most votes in the latest Best Of Patch Readers' Choice poll for Best Place to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Suwanee. Moondance, which opened in October, is chiefly a dine and dance restaurant that also features name entertainers for concerts, such as Randall Bramblett. Wild Wing Cafe qualifies as a sports/bar and casual dining outlet. So tell us what you like about both places in the comments.

The Moondance Lounge again will offer a forum for single people to mingle in Suwanee. An event is scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m., and it is free of charge. According to a posting on meetup.com, it will be a fun, casual, and non-threatening way to meet other single men and women from the area. Depending on the number of people who sign up, activities will be scheduled accordingly. According to the announcement, 14 have signed up already. RSVPs are required. The "match" games will last for an hour and then those interested can head into the dance area to enjoy dancing, the posting says. This is also a great way to meet new friends. The renowned Southern blues musician will be at the Moondance Lounge again. Also, Australian musician Achison will play at Moondance.
The March entertainment calendar at Moondance Lounge in Suwanee has a couple of notable performers, including an encore of sorts. Randall Bramblett, a veteran Southern blues artist who also has played with such performers as Gregg Allman, will be at Moondance on Tuesday, March 13, 7:30 p.m. There will be a $10 cover charge. And Australian blues artist Geoff Achison will appear at Moondance on March 27. There also will be a $10 cover for this. Bramblett appeared at Moondance for a memorable gig in December. Also, a Bramblett song,"I Used To Rule The World," is on the new CD by veteran artist Bonnie Raitt. "It's nice to have a place where (musicians) can get their songs out," Bramblett said. The Moondance Lounge in Suwanee already has provided a new entertainment twist to the local scene: concerts, dance classes and live DJs, for samplers. Now the next twist: speed dating. On Feb. 22, an event called 8 Minute Dating will take place at the site on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. The website says it will offer "a room full of singles, your age, who are just dying to meet someone as attractive and appealing as you! You’ll have pre-mingling, then 8 Great Dates, and then everyone is invited to stay, mingle, free eat, giveaways and cash bar." Price: $34.88. The lounge offers good food, fun atmosphere, and great entertainment.
I had the extreme pleasure of being able to dine at Moondance Lounge in Suwanee on New Year's Eve. From 5pm until 7 pm, the Moondance Lounge hosted a family friendly New Year's Eve party, complete with a countdown to midnight in London, sparkling juice for the kids, and a DJ playing requests from the kids in attendance. The festivities were so much fun that we plan on making it an annual family event. The food at the Moondance Lounge is deliciously decadent. The salmon was crusted to perfection and had a buttery smooth consistency. The beef was cooked to perfection and the quality of the meat was evident in the big bold flavor.
