UGA Grad Student Gets To Kick for Prizes at BCS Title Game

Man could win $100,000 in prizes with a successful field goal at halftime Monday.

There's still a chance this bowl season for a University of Georgia kicker to make a clutch field goal for glory. It didn't work out for Blair Walsh, who, despite becoming the SEC's all-time leading scorer during last week's Outback Bowl, is the talk of the town for missing a field goal try that would have beaten Michigan State in the game's first overtime. Now comes Jonathan Pahlas, a UGA marine sciences graduate student, who won a drawing to attempt a 40-yard field goal for $100,000 in prizes at halftime of Monday night's BCS Title Game between SEC rivals LSU and Alabama. Pahlas, who's never kicked much of anything, will have 60 seconds to make up to five attempts to win a home makeover, an RV and a boat, the Athens Banner-Herald reports…
