About Steve

I'm a little bit of everything. I'm a UGA journalism grad who "came home" from California and enjoys Suwanee's many assets. I'm a political moderate who voted for both George W. Bush and Bill Clinton (promise). I'm a sports nut who also gets into business, politics and local affairs. And as a longtime journalist, I realize that the reader is who matters most.

Suwanee ZIP Code 30024) has been named one of America's top places to live, by Money magazine. Because of that, top issues are those that affect its residents and their families. Those include education, government, parks and recreation, and entertainment. And those are the things we will be watching closely at Suwanee Patch.

Also, transportation is key. Suwanee's proximity to attractions elsewhere in Gwinnett and the Atlanta area mean residents want to get to and from those attractions quickly and easily.

Religion is important, too. Suwanee has a diversity of faiths, and we want to reflect that.

So I hope that gives you an idea of what I'm about, and what I hope to bring to you and all the readers of Suwanee Patch.

Congrats to 7-AAAAAA champ Norcross, which defeated Colquitt County, 41-27, Friday. Norcross will play Lovejoy next week for the state title.

Steve, do you mind updating La Ti Da's Sunday hours to 1-5. It currently shows that we are closed on Sundays. I couldn't figure out how to do it.

Thanks,

Becky Vickery
