What Should New Suwanee Logo Look Like?

Suwanee residents, there's a new logo in the city's future.

City Council approved Tuesday (May 28) the hiring of an Atlanta logo design firm, deshein, to create a new logo for the city. That means the familiar "S" in black on a white background and the gaslamp are in for a makeover.

Seems city officials feel that the current image is getting a bit dated. At a recent City Council work session, officials remarked that such logo remakes are common in the business world. Such companies as NBC and UPS were cited as examples of companies that have revamped their logos.

And deshein, which was selected from an initial pool of 28 applicants, looks like it will provide Suwanee with its typically edgy touch. Deshein's Facebook page contains several work samples with a trendy touch, as well as artsy images of such entertainment luminaries as Larry Hagman and Whoopi Goldberg.

Kick off briefing for City of Suwanee's new logo. Not a very big BIG city maybe, but surely people that think BIG there! Phase 2, concepting!

City officials said that deshein, which is led by Hein van der Heijden, could have a new logo ready for city approval by August. It could then be in use by Suwanee Day in September.
