Is Tiger Woods back in major championship form? Could be.

The world's best-known golfer is off to a hot start in 2013. As media outlets are noting, he won Monday (January 28) in the Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego. The tournament was played at Torrey Pines, where Woods last won a major tournament, in 2008.

And it's a reminder that the 2013 Masters, the year's first major golf tourney, will be played on April 11-14.

As ESPN.com reported, Woods played 25 holes Sunday. He started with a two-shot lead and tripled it before darkness forced play to be halted.

"It was a long day ... and I played well today," Woods said. "Overall, I'm very pleased that I was able to build on my lead."

Now 37, Woods has won 14 major tournaments -- four fewer than all-time leader Jack Nicklaus. Since 2008, Woods has been in rebuilding form, following well-publicized marital indiscretions and a subsequent divorce from Elin Nordegren.

Woods won three PGA Tour events and $1.9 million -- 15th on the tour -- in 2012.
