The Suwanee Sweetheart Sprint 5K will go through Old Town on Feb. 11.

Registration is under way for a 5-kilometer (3.1 mile) race in Suwanee on Saturday, Feb. 11. The Suwanee Sweetheart 5K Sprint will begin at the pedestrian tunnel on Main Street and go through Old Town.

Also, a special deal is available: Normal registration fee is $25, but "pairs" -- sweethearts, friends, neighbors -- can register for $40. The event is hosted by the Rotary Club of Buford/ North Gwinnett.

“The race offers a reasonable goal for New Year’s resolutioners to check their progress,” said sprint organizer Duane Champlin in a news release. “And, the race course provides a variety of sights and topography that will offer a challenge even for those who’ve been running for a while.”
