New Parade Route for Suwanee Day 2013

The city's signature festival comes later in September.

It's just a couple of weeks until Suwanee Day 2013, the city's annual mega-fest. And this year, there will be a significant change.

According to city officials, there will be a new parade route for Suwanee Day (Sept. 21). The parade will begin at 9 a.m., but this year it will start at Stonecypher Road in Old Town Suwanee, and head up Main Street. Then the parade will head east on Suwanee Dam Road, and then down Buford Highway to Town Center. It will end at Chicago Street.

People can still enter the parade, through September 11.

Parade participants are encouraged to decorate their floats and design their performances to fit the theme, which is the 30th anniversary of Suwanee Day. Entrants are eligible for cash prizes in a variety of categories, including best reflection of theme, most creative, and most entertaining, according to the Suwanee Day website.
