Suwanee Music Barn Daylong Event Is Saturday

Music, food, raffles and good times are on the agenda.

The revived Everett Music Barn, site of regular bluegrass performances since the 1960s in Suwanee, is ready for its annual day-long event.

The performing venue on Stonecypher Road will get started on Saturday, June 4, at 1 p.m. with bluegrass music, including jamming by anyone who wants to bring an instrument along. There will be a meal break at 5 p.m., and performances will resume in the evening, family member and curator Tommy Everett said.

Raffles for such items as golf tickets, music CDs and an autographed Atlanta Falcons helmet will be held, Everett said. Funds will be used for ongoing barn maintenance.

The facility came under new ownership in March, and the Saturday night performances resumed in April, with guest bands and the revamped Everett family band performing.Β
