Who Will Be Grand Marshal of Suwanee Day Parade?
The parade will have a new route in 2013.
Suwanee Day is one day closer, and an inspirational figure from the city will be leading the parade on Saturday (Sept. 21).
Kyle Maynard, a Suwanee fitness entrepreneur and motivational speaker, will be the grand marshal of the annual parade that leads off the city's mega-festival at 9 a.m.
In January 2012, Maynard and a team climbed to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, and he thus became the first quadruple amputee to achieve that feat without the aid of prosthetics.
A new twist to the Suwanee Day parade in 2013: the event will begin at Stonecypher Road in Old Town, proceed up Main Street, turn right at Suwanee Dam Road and continue to the Town Center area.
