Updated Jan. 14, 2012

The deadline is Monday, January 16, to get rid of that Christmas tree.

Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful is asking you to donate your trees to their annual "Bring One for the Chipper" tree recycling campaign. The trees will be turned into mulch to use in locations throughout the county.

Until January 16, Gwinnett County residents can take their undecorated Christmas trees to one of several locations.

Suwanee area locations are:

  • Fire Station 21, 474 Old Peachtree Rd., 30024
  • Sims Lake Park, 4600 Suwanee Dam Road, 30024

On Saturday, January 21, the collected trees will be taken to , where they will be shredded. Much of the mulch will then be used to help keep Gwinnett County Parks beautiful.

Volunteers are also in need for the big shred in January. Anyone over the age of 14 can sign up on Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful's website.
