Today in History: On this day in history, baseball great Ted Williams homered in the final at-bat of his career. Williams once said it was his goal in life to "walk down the street [and have] folks say ‘there goes the greatest hitter who ever lived.' " He was the last major-leaguer to hit over .400 in a season (.406 in 1941).
