Suwanee To Have New and Old Holiday Touches

Preparations are being made for 2013.

Suwanee will have a new touch for the 2013 holiday season, as well as some traditional events.

There will be a "large scale tree" in the Town Center Park area this season, according to Denise Brinson, the city's economic development director. It actually will be more of a sculpture, rather than a traditional greenery type tree, in keeping with the city's artistic efforts, Brinson said.

An exact date for the tree placement has not been set.

The familiar touches will be there, too:

  • CABOOSE LIGHTING: The Old Town event will be held Dec. 6, 6:30 p.m.
  • CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK: The annual Dickens-themed event put on by Shadowbrook Church will be Dec. 13-14.
