Suwanee Man Wins $1 Million Powerball Prize

The winning ticket was purchased at a fuel kiosk at a grocery store.

A Suwanee area resident is $1 million richer after a recent Powerball drawing.

According to a Georgia Lottery news release, Carlton Davis, 49, of Suwanee won the prize in the Sept. 14 Powerball drawing.

“I looked at the numbers on the screen and on the ticket, and they looked alike,” he said in the release. “I said, ‘Wow!’ I almost fell out. It was unreal, and I couldn’t believe it.”

The Kroger fuel kiosk at 3651 Peachtree Parkway in Suwanee sold the winning Quik Pik ticket, lottery officials said.

The winning numbers from the Sept. 14 drawing were: 1-17-25-37-44, and the Powerball was 20. Davis' ticket matched the first five winning numbers.

A computer analyst, Davis intends to invest his winnings.

Saturday’s Powerball drawing is at an estimated $60 million to a single annuity winner. Tickets are $2 per play.
