NEWS NEARBY: Guns Confiscated at Cobb County High School

News from Patch sites in the area.

Two unloaded guns were confiscated from two students at Wheeler High School without incident on Friday (January 18), according to Principal David Chiprany.

In an email delivered over the weekend to the Wheeler community, Chiprany said a student tip led to school administrators and resource officers taking action, and that the students in possession of the weapons were taken into police custody.

Wheeler and all other Cobb County School District schools were closed Monday for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday; classes resumed Tuesday.
