Trial Date Reportedly Set for Lake Lanier Boating Deaths Defendant (Update)

Motions were heard Tuesday in Hall County in the case of Paul Bennett of Cumming.

According to 11Alive, a trial date of Nov. 4 has been set in Hall County for the defendant in two 2012 boating deaths on Lake Lanier.

Motions were heard Tuesday (June 4) in the case of Bennett, of Cumming, who faces charges in connection with the June 2012 deaths of Griffin and Jake Prince of Buford. 

Johns Creek salon owner Bennett was indicted for homicide and boating under the influence in connection with the boating collision that killed the youths.

The trial was already delayed from May.

Meanwhile, WSB TV reported that during the hearing, prosecutors played a tape of the night of Bennett's arrest that shows him crying and saying that he left the scene because his diabetic female passenger needed sugar.
