Gwinnett County Police continue to investigate a homicide that occurred at a home in the 2900 block of Evergreen Eve Crossing in the Evergreen subdivision of Dacula on Saturday, Dec. 28.

According to Cpl. Troy Tobler, Gwinnett County Police were called to police headquarters on Hi Hope Road in Lawrenceville at approximately 1:05 p.m. on Dec. 28 to meet with a man about suspicious activity at another address. The man also requested police be dispatched to the Evergreen Eve Crossing home to check on the residents there.

"Officers that responded to the Evergreen Eve Crossing location found a deceased person inside," Tobler said in a released statement. "That person was believed to be the victim of a homicide."

Police have identified Wolf Griffin, 35, a resident of the home, as a suspect. Griffin is in custody. Possible charges, according to police, include felony murder.

The victim has been identified as Peggie Robinson, 62, of Gainesville, Ga. Authorities say Robinson was acting as a third party intermediary and had just dropped off Griffin's child when she was attacked.

"Although it was clear that the suspect and victim knew each other, motive has not been determined," Tobler said.

The man who asked to meet with police at headquarters is the grandfather of Griffin's child and also a resident of the home.

"After further investigation and interviews, detectives determined there was probable cause to arrest Griffin and charge him with aggravated assault and felony murder. There are aspects of the case that continue to be investigated," Tobler added.

Griffin is being held in the Gwinnett County Jail without bond.
