A Suwanee resident was jailed Thursday (December 6) after a shoplifting incident at Kohl's in Duluth, according to Gwinnett Police records.
Richard Benjamin Rushing of a Breton Hunt Lane address was being held by a loss prevention worker at Kohl's on West Liddell Road when officers arrived, according to the incident report.
He later was charged with theft by shoplifting, according to jail records.
The Kohl's worker said she observed Rushing enter a fitting room, then exit the room with fewer items than he took in. Another employee reportedly found tags inside the fitting room, according to the report.
The loss prevention worker said Rushing concealed a shirt and hoodie (value $88), and left the store without offering to pay for the goods. He was confronted outside the store and then escorted back inside.
Officers handcuffed the suspect and took him to the Gwinnett Detention Center. He was released on $1,300 bond early Friday (December 7).
