UPDATE: Woman jailed after arrest at Suwanee Walmart

The following arrest information was supplied by the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Department and Suwanee Police. It does not indicate a conviction.

Ietta Paulette Parrott of a Madeline Circle address in Suwanee was booked into the Gwinnett Detention Center on Tuesday on charges that include drug possession and shoplifting. She was arrested at the Suwanee Walmart by Suwanee Police, records show.

Charges include two violations of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act, as well as possession of marijuana and the sale, distribution or possession of dangerous drugs. She also is charged with theft by shoplifting.

A Walmart loss prevention worker summoned Suwanee Police to the store early Tuesday after observing Parrott walking out of the store with a DVD player under her arm, records show. After police arrived, the Suwanee officer found other items on her apparently stolen from Walmart and other stores, records show.

After a search, police also found methamphetamine and marijuana on Parrott. Later, police found a box of syringes that Parrott's male companion had in his truck. Inside the box, police found a white, granular substance "consistent with cocaine," records show.

Police also found acetaminophen and Xanax pills. Parrott also was found to have outstanding warrants from Gwinnett and DeKalb counties.
