Suwanee Library To Use 'Buddy System' With Buford-Sugar Hill

Beginning Sunday, the of the Gwinnett Public Library will begin a sharing system with the Buford-Sugar Hill branch to maintain 7-day access for residents.

According to a Gwinnett Library news release, Gwinnett citizens can still access essential services throughout the week by choosing at least two branches that are in close proximity with corresponding hours. The new schedule allows the library to align its service hours with its already reduced staff.

The attached graphic also shows the schedule for all GCPS branches.

The library system is battling funding cuts from Gwinnett County and is considering private methods, , to maintain services.

Here are the "buddy branch" pairs:

• Lilburn Branch and Norcross Branch
• Buford-Sugar Hill Branch and Suwanee Branch
• Hamilton Mill Branch and Dacula Branch
• Collins Hill Branch and Lawrenceville Branch
• Peachtree Corners Branch and Duluth Branch
• Five Forks Branch and Mountain Park Branch
• Grayson Branch and Elizabeth H. Williams (Snellville) Branch
• Centerville Branch and Elizabeth H. Williams (Snellville) Branch

Buford-Sugar Hill, Hamilton Mill, Collins Hill, Peachtree Corners, Lilburn, Five Forks, Grayson, Centerville branches will have the following schedule:

·         Monday:           12pm– 8pm 

·         Tuesday:          10am– 6pm 

·         Wednesday:      12pm– 8pm 

·         Thursday:         10am– 3pm

·         Friday:             10am– 3pm

·         Saturday:         12pm– 5pm

·         Sunday:           12pm– 5pm

Suwanee, Dacula, Lawrenceville, Duluth, Norcross, Mountain Park, and Elizabeth H. Williams/Snellville branches will have the following schedule:

·         Monday:       10am– 6pm 

·         Tuesday:      12pm– 8pm 

·         Wednesday:  10am– 3pm 

·         Thursday:     12pm– 8pm 

·         Friday:         10am– 3pm 

·         Saturday:     12pm– 5pm

·         Sunday:       12pm– 5pm

Weekend hours will stay the same at all library locations.
