Northolt Parkway To Reopen Friday

Work on the Suwanee road is part of the McGinnis Ferry/I-85 project.

Weather permitting, the section of Northolt Parkway from Burnette Road to Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road (SR 317) will reopen Friday, April 15, at 10 a.m. This had been closed as part of the I-85/McGinnis Ferry project in Suwanee being handled by the Georgia Department of Transportation.

“Northolt was closed so the grade of the roadway could be lowered by four feet. This improved sight distance drivers can see and therefore improved safety for Northolt and Burnette Road. Northolt will be reopen for you to use by 10 a.m. tomorrow. We are doing some finish work today and will restripe it tomorrow morning,” DOT District Construction Engineer Randall Davis said in a news release.

The McGinnis Ferry project, scheduled for a September 2011 completion, will extend McGinnis Ferry Road by 2.67 miles, from Satellite Boulevard across I-85  to Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road. It will not include freeway access.
