Qualifying Opens for Suwanee City Council Races

Three posts will be on the ballot in November.

Election Year 2013 in Suwanee takes shape this week.

Qualifying opens Monday and closes Wednesday for Suwanee City Council races, with three posts set for the Nov. 5 ballot.

The posts up for election, and persons currently serving in those spots, are:

  • Post 3: Kevin McOmber;
  • Post 4: Beth Hilscher;
  • Post 5: Dan Foster.

Foster and Hilscher have said they intend to seek re-election. McOmber has not announced his status.

All Suwanee council members are at-large, meaning they represent the entire city.

After Mayor Jimmy Burnette, Foster is the longest-tenured member of the Suwanee council, as he joined in 2006.

No one has publicly announced intentions to challenge any of the incumbent council members. More about the elected officials is on the city website.
