SPLOST Voting in Final Day in Suwanee

Voters across Gwinnett County are deciding whether to renew the local sales tax, beginning in 2014.

Updated 3:21 p.m.

There was a steady movement of voters at one Suwanee precinct Tuesday in the final day of voting for the 2014 Gwinnett SPLOST.

David Brunton of Duluth was among those who voted at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Suwanee shortly after noon.Β He did not say explicitly how he voted, but gave an indication.

"I've heard two totally different stories," he said. "One is that it's an increase. Two is that it's a continuation -- I believe the latter.

"Everything (continues) as it is."

The issue, of course, is whether to renew the 1 percent Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax. The current tax expires in March 2014.

Patch will have updates on the Gwinnett SPLOST voting.
