Suwanee Council Names Foster Mayor Pro Tem

City Council also recognizes employees and Boy Scouts at January meeting.

As expected, the Suwanee City Council named Dan Foster as Mayor Pro Tempore at its January meeting Tuesday.

Foster becomes the "vice mayor" and would preside over official city functions should Mayor Jimmy Burnette be unable to do so. . The council vote was unanimous, with Kevin McOmber not attending the meeting.

Also at Tuesday's meeting, the council recognized several city employees for their efforts.

Commended were Wendy Bell, finance; Lynne DeWilde, public information officer; Jeremy Friar, public works; Aimee Nobs, human resources; Karla McElroy, Chris Whitson, Rene Gilbert, custodial; Bill Brodgdon, municipal court. Other awards went to Calvin Dailey, public works; Amie Sakmar, finance; Jessica Roth, city manager's office; Scott Moretz, public works; and Robert Thompson, police.
