Boyce Contributions Coming for GCPS Campaign

The vice chairman is up for re-election to the board in 2012.

Gwinnett school board member Carole Boyce, who is up for re-election in 2012, has some well-known Gwinnett residents financially supporting her campaign.

Greg and Tammy Shumate and Clyde and Sandra Strickland, couples who are noted for donating to Gwinnett institutions, are among those who have made contribution to Boyce's campaign, according to state records.

Also backing Boyce is David Snell, whose E.R. Snell Construction has been involved in several Gwinnett construction projects, including the recent McGinnis Ferry Road bridge over I-85.

The Shumates contributed $250 to Boyce in January, and the Stricklands contributed $250 in February, records show. Snell also donated $250 in January.

Boyce, who lives in Dacula, has been on the Gwinnett school board since 2005. Her revamped District I includes Grayson, Archer and Dacula high schools.
