GCPS Tentative Budget Adoption Is Tuesday

The Gwinnett County school board is scheduled to tentatively adopt is fiscal year 2013 budget on Tuesday evening in Duluth. Board members have scheduled the action for a work session at 6 p.m. at Duluth High.

The tentative adoption is scheduled to take place before the District III area board meeting at Duluth High, which is set for 7 p.m. District III includes several Suwanee and Sugar Hill schools, and is represented by Dr. Mary Kay Murphy.

for FY 2013. Its operating budget is about 4.8 percent lower than the current year. The system will get about $101 million from E-SPLOST funds in FY 2013.

The board is scheduled to hold public hearings on the budget for May 10 and May 17, with final adoption set for May 17.
