Golfers Can Win $1 Million at Lanier Course

The $1 Million Challenge will give the big prize for a hole in one in June.

Golfers, if you want to win $1 million, you might have a better chance at a Lake Lanier course than if you played the lottery.

Beginning Friday and running through June 21, Legacy on Lanier Golf Club will host qualifying for the $1 Million Challenge.

The 25 players who shoot closest to the pin on Legacy’s Hole No. 10 during the qualifying period will be invited back to take part in The $1 Million Challenge at 9 a.m. on June 23, according to a press release.

On the day of the challenge, 30 players will each have a chance to make a hole in one for the grand prize of $1,000,000. Participants will be drawn at random to determine order of play, with one shot at winning the money.

To qualify, players must register in the golf shop when checking in for their round and tee off before 2 p.m.

Other prizes being given away include a year of golf for one at Legacy on Lanier Golf Club, and luxury golf weekend stay for four at Lake Lanier Islands’ Legacy Lodge.

“Last year’s event was so well-received and a great deal of fun for all involved, we couldn’t wait to do it again,” Brian Conley, Legacy on Lanier Director of Golf, said in a news release.. “Not only does it encourage regular players to try their hand at the Challenge, it’s a great reason for occasionalplayers to blow the dust off their clubs and get back out on the course."
