2012 Olympics: Maya Moore Wins Gold Medal

Moore, a former Suwanee high school basketball star, helps the U.S. women to another gold medal.

NCAA champion, WNBA champion and Olympic gold medalist. The honors keep on coming for Maya Moore, the former Suwanee high school basketball star.

Moore and the rest of the U.S. Olympics women's basketball team Saturday (Aug. 11) captured the 2012 gold medal by defeating France, 86-50. It was the fifth straight gold for the U.S., with its last Olympics loss coming in 1992.

Moore, who played at Collins Hill High,Β had six points and seven rebounds for the U.S. She also won an NCAA title with UConn and a WNBA title with the Minnesota Lynx.

The Olympics end Sunday, Aug. 12. The U.S. leads the overall medal count with 102 entering Sunday.
