Peachtree Ridge Advances in Football Rankings
Region 7-AAAAAA comes up big as region play opens.
Even though it did not play last Friday, Peachtree Ridge still advanced in the Class 6A football rankings.
The Lions (2-0) of Suwanee are now No. 9 in the latest ranking released by Georgia High School Football Daily. The list also is published in The Atlanta Journal Constitution.
North Gwinnett continued as the state's No. 1 team. Two other teams from 7-AAAAAA -- Norcross and Mill Creek -- also are in the Top 10.
Peachtree Ridge hosts rival Duluth on Friday (Sept. 13) as region play opens. North Gwinnett visits defending state champion Norcross.
Unranked Collins Hill hosts Habersham Central.
