Peachtree Ridge's Harris Shines

Punt returner helps Lions to first win of the season.

Peachtree Ridge of Suwanee is showing signs of being a big-play team this season, and Ahmad Harris is one reason why.

Harris had a punt return for a touchdown and another nullified because of a penalty last Friday as the Lions earned their first win, 31-2 at Roswell.

Harris made it 14-0 with a 42-yard punt return for a touchdown vs. the Hornets. For his efforts, he is the Suwanee Patch High School Player of the Week.

Harris' teammate, Diandre Atwater, scored on a TD run vs. Roswell and ran for two scores in the season opener vs. Walton in the Georgia Dome.

Also drawing notice was North Gwinnett receiver Chad Scott, who caught eight passes for 102 yards in his team's 35-17 victory over St. Augustine, Fl.

Now, the Lions get to show their explosive offense off at home for the first time -- Friday, when they host Newnan.

In other Suwanee games this week, Collins Hill has a tough assignment as it hits the road to take on No. 5 M.L. King.

North Gwinnett, ranked No. 7, has a week off before taking on Suwanee rival Collins Hill.
