UPDATED: When Will GCPS Make Up Latest Snow Day?

Classes have been cancelled for Wednesday, Jan. 29.

Updated Jan. 29: Gwinnett County Public Schools has not announced when students will make up the class day lost to weather on Jan. 28.

The next available "snow make-up day" is Friday, March 14, according to the 2013-14 calendar.

Gwinnett County Schools has posted the following statement on Facebook:

GCPS will be closed on Wed., Jan. 29 due to inclement weather.

All Gwinnett County Public Schools' afterschool and evening activities are cancelled for tonight.

Gwinnett County Schools has posted the following message on Facebook: 
GCPS is having school today. Leaders continue to monitor the weather and road conditions. If there is a decision regarding the school day or afterschool activities, we will post it here, on the website, and notify metro news media outlets.

Updated 6:02 a.m.: 
The snow that has been forecast for Suwanee and Gwinnett County on Tuesday (Jan. 28) should begin falling about 10 a.m., according to weather forecasts.

A time breakdown on weather.com calls for "flurries" to begin about 10 a.m. That changes to "snow shower" about 3 p.m., and those conditions are expected to last through the evening.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for Gwinnett County, beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday. That warning also calls for snow, with accumulation of up to 2 inches.

Also, the warning carries the following advisory:

SNOW COVERED ROADS WILL MAKE FOR HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING.

As of 6 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 28), Gwinnett County Public Schools were holding classes as usual.
